Desert Moon Champignon (Monty) is a 15 hand Section D Welsh Cob gelding bred by Wendy Borst of Moonlight Ranch in Phoenix, Arizona. He was foaled in 1998 and subsequently purchased as a 2-year old.
Monty has been making a name for himself - locally and nationally. Having won several highpoint awards/perpetual trophies at USDF/USEF-recognized dressage shows at 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Levels, Monty has demonstrated what Welsh Cobs can do as well as the heart and power most possess.
Monty was Arizona State Champion at 1st and 2nd Level and HOY at 2nd Level for ADA in 2006.
Currently Monty is working at FEI, having won his first time out at Prix St. George with a score over 62%. Monty is without a doubt one of those once in a lifetime horses.
